Speed Up PC Performance With Registry Easy

Registry Easy: Easily Scan, Repair and Speedup Your PC!
Over time, you will probably notice a decrease in the speed of your windows computer. We all go through this phase at one time or the other. You will notice your PC take more time to boot, cant run multiple applications at the same time amongst many other speed related issues. Have you even invested extra money in hardware all in the bid to speed up PC performance with no luck? Guess its time you look into the hood and see what is actually going wrong with your PC. Before I go to deep into this tutorial, I will like to educate you on an important Windows component called REGISTRY.

Windows registry is a very complex database of entries, which stores information about everything in a computer – from the hardware configuration of the machine, to the version of the operating system, to application installed on the computer, to user settings and lots more. The registry also retains information about uninstalled programs and unplugged devices.

The performance on a PC is directly proportional to the health of the Windows registry but due to the complexity of the registry, Microsoft does not recommend modification of the registry. This could lead to a serious damage of the operating system which might make the PC unusable. In fact, there are very few expert who can manually modify the Windows registry without breaking it.

Registry Easy is an intelligent application that has understands the registry structure, run diagnostics to determine the health of your PC and also fix found errors. In this guide, I will be show you how to speed up PC performance with registry easy. PC speed can be conveniently viewed from 2 angles:

  • PC Start-up
  • Application threshold
PC START-UP
This is the amount of time it takes a computer to go from a cold dead to full start-up(ready to use). The start-up speed cannot always give a true picture of what the other angle will look like. Some PC take a lot of time to boot and runs fast after start-up and vice versa. When your PC is starting up, while loading the operating system, it also loads some applications which have been configured (by you or default) to launch at start-up. The truth is, not these applications are not all required for the computer to either start-up properly or even function properly after start-up. In most cases they are 3rd party applications such as media players, instant messengers, device managers etc. which users knowingly or unknowingly have configured to launch at start-up.

Now let see how registry easy can do speed up Windows start-up.
1. Download a copy of Registry Easy here
2. Install the application and launch.
3. Click on system tools then click on start-up manager. The page should look like the figure below:

Registry Easy will quickly scan your PC and display applications configured to launch at start-up. Click on the expand (+) button to view more information about application. Click on the check box to select an application  and press "disable selected" to stop the application from launching at start-up or "remove selected" to completely delete the entry from the start-up manager. Reboot and experience the difference.

Note that you do not disable your anti-virus or any other protection software from launching at start-up. Your PC needs this protection even at start-up. Always click on the expand (+) button to view more information about the application before removing of disabling.

APPLICATION THRESHOLD
This is the number of applications the PC can conveniently run concurrently before it starts to freeze of slow down. While this varies from PC to PC, it is important to note that this is the most important part of the the PC speed up process. It is at this stage that a lot is demanded from the PC but believe me, very few can deliver. A couple of factors such as number of dead/junk file on the PC could be responsible for this intermittent freeze.

Launch Registry Easy, click on Scan & Clean > Junk File Cleaner;
This utility will scan you PC and delete junk file in order to free more space for your applications to use.

Choose the drive(s) you want Registry Easy to scan and click next next.
Registry Easy will search your drives for various junk files using the extension's wild card. You can un-check some of the extensions if you chose not to include it in the junk files to be removed. The scan could take some minutes depending on the size of the selected drive. Follow through by clicking next, detected junk files will be moved to the recycle bin or any other preferred location.

This is a pretty simple way to speed up PC performance with the use of this nifty tool.
